Meta Lets US Users Video Chat With Muse AI Avatar Called Jolly

Meta has made Muse Voice available to all US users, allowing people to call and video chat with the company's consumer AI agent. The feature, first shown at Meta Connect in September, runs on two new models, Muse Realtime Avatar and Muse Realtime Voice, and works on mobile, web and Mac.

The default avatar is an animated character nicknamed Jolly, though users can swap it for a person, an animal or another character. Meta says the avatar uses subtle expressions and gestures that match the tone of the conversation. Chief AI officer Alexandr Wang shared a demo of his own avatar on X.

AI Glasses and the upcoming Muse Charm device will follow. Meta also plans a Tamagotchi-like Muse wearable with a small screen showing the avatar before the end of the year. The rollout intensifies competition among tech giants racing to make AI assistants feel far more personal, expressive and always available.
