Israeli Study Finds No Higher Heart Risk With Modern Hormone Therapy

An observational Israeli study of 52,330 women aged 45 to 59 compared those who began contemporary hormone therapy with matched women who did not. Over about twelve years, heart events occurred in 4.4 percent versus 4.6 percent, and blood clots were nearly identical. Because the study is preliminary and observational, it cannot prove cause and effect, and personal medical advice from a qualified doctor still matters greatly.

Two Healthy Diets Linked to Better Heart Rate Variability in 7,256 Adults

A cross-sectional analysis of 7,256 Maastricht Study adults found that higher adherence to the DASH and Dutch Healthy Diet patterns was linked to higher very-low-frequency heart rate variability power, mostly in people not taking beta-blockers. Time-domain measures showed no significant link after adjustment. The design cannot prove the diets improve cardiovascular function, so the findings remain suggestive only and need confirmation in future trials.

Large US Survey Links Cannabis Use to Higher Reported Heart Disease Odds

A study of 442,906 US adults from the 2020 to 2024 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System found cannabis users had 21 to 23 percent higher odds of reported cardiovascular disease. The link was strongest for stroke and absent for heart attack. Because the data is self-reported and a single snapshot, it cannot prove causation or account for potency, so it signals risk rather than certainty.
