Dickens' Writing Chalet Added to Historic England At-Risk Register
Charles Dickens' writing chalet in Rochester has joined Historic England's at-risk register due to rotting wood and structural weakness. Medway Council has secured 240,000 pounds from the Lottery Heritage Fund to plan restoration. Hall's Croft, Hastings Castle and Fylingdales moorland were also added, while Edward Jenner's hut was removed after restoration. Further updates are expected soon as the story develops and more details emerge.
